In our On-Board Obedience & Agility training, we teach the dog first, then, when the dog is fully trained, we teach the owner how to handle. That is the transfer of command.  (To learn more about what the Transfer of Command is all about, watch the VIDEO.

After which;
  • the owner will have a deeper understanding of the dog's behavior,
  • will know the "when" & "how" in giving corrections, and
  • probably, will need a very little help from a professional trainer in training his or her other dogs.

Transfer of command may take 2 sessions or more depending on the ability of the handler to learn the transfer.

We believe that it would be easier & FASTER for the dog to learn if at first, he (the dog) shall be trained alone & contnuously by the trainer, rather than both the dog & owner starting at the same time. Likewise, it would be easier for the owner to learn if the dog is already trained. Most often, it is the dog who teaches the owner.

Can you imagine a dog owner who does not know about dog training, training an untrained dog? Most likely, both the dog and owner will be confused and the training sessions prolonged unreasonably.

Aside from the transfer of command, SK9C gives free consultations to "old" students who might have encountered problems with their dogs.

When the owner is able to handle the dog without the help of the trainer, the dog is now released to the owner together with an instructional video of the dog in training. The video serves as a trouble shooting guide to possible problems that may be encountered by the owner in the future. Transfer of command may take 2 days or more depending on the ability of the owner to learn the lesson.

STEP THREE: The owner tries his hand in commanding the dog...
STEP TWO: The trainer explains how to handle the leash, and, when and how to give proper and timely corrections.....
STEP ONE: The trainer demonstrates to the owner what the dog has learned and the proper way of handling .....
